The Masked Saint and Harold's Heavenly Christmas
Chris was the sickly kid growing up. He was constantly in and out of the hospital, mostly with pneumonia. In the fourth grade he had polio and viral encephalitis. He had to learn to walk all over again.
Thanks to a wonderful God and a godly doctor, they found out what was causing his low immune system. The doctor got him going to the gym to work with weights. Chris worked hard at getting his body into shape.
Chris was heavily influenced by a precious little black lady by the name of Miss Edna while he was growing up. Just about every chapter of his book has a lesson he learned from her.
At the age of 24, Chris answered an ad in the paper that was looking for prospective pro wrestlers. He trained under The Great Malenko. Chris wrestled from 1978-88, wrestling such greats as The Undertaker and The Ultimate Warrior.
Chris retired at the height of his career to fulfill God's calling on his life to become a pastor.
When he went to his first church, he began handling some people more as a pro wrestler than as a pastor.
He wrote a book entitled, The Masked Saint that documents his transition from pro wrestling to ministry.
The book was made into an award winning movie.
Chris has been married to his high school sweetheart for 46 years. He has two married daughters and six grandchildren.
